A local nonprofit is helping the fight against hunger with the mantra, “Real people, sharing real food, in real conversation.”
The Fork Real Community Cafe celebrated its grand opening Monday at their new, permanent location at 324 Saint Joseph St.
It’s been a long time coming for this pay-what-you-can eatery, with a mission of increasing food security in the community. They serve lunch five days a week, where customers can either pay the value of the meal, pay a little extra or volunteer in exchange for a meal.
Everyone who helped bring the café to fruition is excited for the new digs.
